I started running in February 2017. Growing up, I hated every form of exercise. When I met my boyfriend, we started walking and hiking a lot. Every weekend we try to go somewhere new. I got fed up pretty quickly with being out of breath and having aching feet, so I started to exercise in 2016. By 2017, I wanted to run.

With the help of Pahla B Fitness, she guided me through to my first 5 km. In 2018, I got a Polar watch and have been tracking my running since then.

As you can see from the above image, I did just under 7km in over an hour. I have the splits below:

I ran 6 km in 46 minutes, a pretty decent improvement. Below my splits:

Maybe for other people, this wouldn’t be a big achievement. However, for me, it is. I love running now! My goal is to get to 10 km in 1 hour. I’m well on my way to doing that. This year, I will focus on getting to 8 km, it’s possible and doable. I also want to either do 2 sessions per week at the gym, or 1 session at the gym and 1 session at the swimming pool. I already cycle between 7-8 km Mon-Fri. I am a sporty person. And I’m very proud of it.
